When you’re smilin’….

Dude!! I am in Denver!! Wooooohooooo!

Guest posting today will be the very funny Slam Dunk from Slam Dunks.

_____________________________________________________________

Thanks to Mama Cass for allowing me to guest blog today.

One great aspect about being a visiting writer is that I can try new concepts.

If a post is well received I can use it again on my own blog, Slam Dunks.  If it bombs, I don’t offend any of my regular readers, can quickly flee the scene, and leave the mess for the generous and talented Cass to clean up.

Here goes…

____________________________

Maintaining a positive attitude during the ebb and flow of a week’s routine requires effort.

Saddled with burdens, it can be admirable to witness an individual persevere–one who turns lemons into lemonade.

Well, the following folks may offer little for us to admire, but they do appear to be busy making lemonade:

Maestro, Louis Armstrong music please…

When you’re smilin’….

Mr. Valencia: Charged with Violation of Probation

keep on smilin’

Ms. Pitsos: Charged with DUI Child Endangerment

The whole world smiles with you…

Mr. Ganoe: Charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
——————–
Wait…
Do you think I am being naive for believing these defendants are practicing expressions of a positive mental attitude?
Why are they smiling for their booking snapshots?
What if they are just intoxicated or arrogant, or both?
That would just ruin my message, right?
Yikes…
In any event, I hope this post elicits a few more smiles from everyone this week–even if you are flashing your pearly whites for a mugshot photo.

Interesting was just over at you blog, and come over to take a peep, I venture I could come up with some pretty funny sub titles under their photos, but I think I will leave that to Gary Larsen. I venture not into the realm on the mind of people that feel they have something in strange circumstances to smile about.
Not exactly “eye candy” but great mug shots.
cheers,
Joanny

I think the smiling at the DMV thing has gone too far. Maybe they think they’re going to renew their license……??? :O)

There’s nothing in these photos that would make me think CRIMINAL. I’d be a terrible detective.

Hmm, which is better – the smiling face or the total trainwreck look as we saw with Nick Nolte. Not sure…

Did you see Paris Hilton’s recent mug shot? It looked better than most professional modeling pics.

You know, I have always wondered why people smile for their mug shots? It’s not exactly the proudest moment of their lives!

It’s strange. It shows they lack judgment, no?

Those smiles can only mean one thing … they’re either drunk or high.

I always read SlamDunks blog so you were wise to pick him- his crime blogs are interesting. Great captures here, as I told him-the sex offender one is a fave.

Creepy and entertaining to read at the same time. I wished there had been more– does that make me sick? Slam Dunk has one of the rare blogs that is interesting while actually accomplishing something– great choice for a guest blogger!

Which is worse – the creepy traditional mug shot or the psychotic looking scary one? Guess it depend on how you plan to plead (insanity? consider the smile pose). Or maybe they just figured out what I did about the driver’s license photo: smiling might make you look silly, but it won’t make you look like you just robbed a convenience store.

Really, what do they have to lose by smiling? They’ve already been arrested, and are probably guilty. What’s left? It might be the last time they smile for a long, long, time!
