More fun than Whack-a-Bush

Did you play that game?  Oh it was great fun.

Anyhoo… I wasn’t going to do this but then I decided that I had to.  I was compelled.

So I just very recently started reading Gucci Mama.  I was referred from several people.  In all honesty, I haven’t been reading her long enough to make a huge opinion about the woman until I read her post Talk with the Prez.

Now I have to say my opinion of her is well… not great.  Feel free to go read the post.  Gather your own opinion.

I love nothing more than to send people to read a blog I feel like throwing up after reading.

Ahem.

Please do go and read it because I am not about to paste it here.  Besides, like I said… I want you to gather your own opinion.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Ok you back?

Great.

So you probably read my comment to her:

Yes I realize I was hitting below the belt there.  But the more I thought about it the more I just realized… I wouldn’t change a thing.

Here is her response to me:

The whole reason of this very blog today is because I could not fit my remaining comment in the area allowed.  Every time I tried it kicked me out.  So I am posting it here.  Gucci Mama may or may not read it.  Regardless, I will know I have said my piece on the matter.

So Gucci Mama, here is my final response to you dear that I was un-allowed to post on your comment section..

God , I love the way you self-righteous right-wing tight asses love to call people names and attach labels to everyone who doesn’t agree with you.  Oh, did I say that out loud?  Che Barack?  Okay, I guess that’s fair because I referred to Dubya as Monkey Boy for 8 years.  Dumb as a chimp and looked just like one too.

Never met a liberal who wants to learn a thing?  That’s pretty damn funny when it’s been my experience that liberals consistently seek to expand their knowledge.  Your reason for feeling this way most likely has to do with the fact that liberals don’t want to “learn” to embrace the bullshit dogma that you righties have been spouting since good ol’ Ronnie was king.

And Barack killed off the Kennedy dynasty?  Hmm.  Guess somehow I thought it was a brain tumor.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see how Scott Brown does in the next general election before we can really make the call whether he swayed all those democrats to the right or just ran against an incredibly inferior candidate.

And you’re really going play the “socialist” card?  You really have to stop listening to Rush and Glenn.  But then, you guys called Roosevelt a socialist too, which upset Americans so much that they elected him POTUS four times.  I think you’re just upset with Obama because he’s moved an agenda forward that favors people rather than your quintessential corporate interests.  How much Morgan Stanley stock to you own anyway?  And your historical reference here to El Presidente is inaccurate.  Che was never President.  That would be Fidel.  Che was just “El Che”.

And you just couldn’t be satisfied until you brought up good king Ronnie again.  Notwithstanding the fact that most modern economists agree that his trickledown economics are pretty much responsible for setting up the economic havoc that we’re dealing with today.  Reaganomics?  Without question the worst economic policies to infect America since maybe, oh, Christopher Columbus?

And liberals are “whacko, America hating” ideologists?  That’s pretty funny shit coming from a person who, if you had your way, would make damn sure that any woman who is raped by a family member does not have the right to choose whether or not she has to carry the resulting child to term?  That we should just let Wall Street manipulate our economy to the point that my 401K is smaller than your IQ.  That we should ensure that gays are treated like second class citizens in spite of what our Constitution says.  That we should never, God forbid, teach our children about effective contraception and how to avoid STDs.  What the hell, abstinence has worked so well for the last several thousand years, right?  Just ask the Catholics.  That you would be tickled pink if we were to make Evangelical Christianity the national religion and follow the bible as the literal word of God.  Especially the part where he dictates that we should kill everyone that works on the Sabbath.  Puts a bit of a crimp in those special Congressional sessions, doesn’t it.

I do want to apologize, however, for saying that I feel sorry for your kids and that I would be ashamed of having you as a mother.  That was a bit of a low blow spouted in the heat of passion and I regret saying it.  What I should have said is that I feel sorry that your children will be well indoctrinated as good little conservatives before they have the chance to make up their own minds on what is right and wrong about our society and that it’s a shame that you will likely mold their minds to be as narrow as yours.

I feel better already.

{grin}

Your comment is up. Sometimes it says the URL is too large but then it magically posts anyway. I have no idea why. I responded to what you said. It’s on the post if you want to read it.

I’m glad you came by today. I wish you would have read what I actually said instead of what you wanted to see, but I find that when liberals want to fight with me they have to put words in my mouth instead of attacking my points because my points are perfectly stated and spot on. They are absolutely indisputable.

I NEVER said I’m against gay marriage. I NEVER said I’m against women having the option to abort after rape. You assume that because you want to be pissed off at me. The fact is, I’m not against gay marriage. I’m against legislating from the bench. Had you read my previous comments on the post, you would have seen that I said repeatedly that it’s a states rights issue. Had you read the comments where abortion was discussed, you’d have seen that I said that I am absolutely against abortion on demand, that I find it a vile, disgusting practice. But that I can have compassion enough to see that a woman should be allowed the choice to continue a pregnancy when she was not allowed to choose to conceive it. What I have a problem with is people using rape pregnancy, which occurs between one and three percent of the time (and one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage) as justification for abortion on demand when EVERYONE knows 99% of abortions occur for the sake of convenience.

I never ever ever stoop to personal attacks when debating politics. I don’t need to because I have things like facts and logic on my side. It’s not based on my opinion; it’s based on historical evidence and quantifiable fact.

I hope you come back and read the funny stuff. We might not like one another’s politics, but that doesn’t mean we can’t like one another.

And on that note I respectfully agree to disagree. We could go around in circles over and over again because we are not EVER going to agree on this issue.

I think I will also check back again for more posts. Non political based posts most likely. CB and Nolie both recommended you so I will take their advice and check back with you again at a later date.

Honestly… the fact that you read my blog at all and then even posted a comment gives me great respect.

Again… let’s agree to disagree. Because your post and your political view still make me furious.

Oh, absolutely. It’s never my intention to infuriate anyone. Annoy a little, sure, but infuriate, no! I am very passionate about politics, but I am not emotional about it at all. I forget that not everyone is the same.

I don’t write about politics very often, but I have been known to talk about sex and balance some pretty sweet stuff on my boobs!

Truce, baby. I have no issue with you. I suspect you’re pretty fabulous.

DUDE! What are you sitting on the keyboard?!?! How the hell do you reply that fast?!

I know what you mean about talking about politics and forgetting that not everyone is the same. I do agree there for sure. But I also tend to be rather one sided with the belief that “How can the whole world not feel the exact fucking way I feel!?!? Because MY way is the RIGHT way! DUH!”

Sex and boobs rock. Just sayin. And yes… I am pretty fabulous. :)

So after that.. yes truce is good.

Dear Big Mama, I LOVE you….when can we set the date!? (LOL) I agree with you. I hate it when any one person generalizes an entire group of people. I am sick of the fear and racism against Obama masked as concern for family values and patriotism. Thank you for standing up and backing up your beliefs with action. Thank you for having a point of view. Thank you for having such a huge heart! HUGS to you.

And here we go again! Play the race card because you can’t find fault with my facts. Is anyone allowed to disagree with Obama or does the fact that he’s black mean we should all bow at his alter of wonderful? I’m going to guess you’re not a Condoleeza Rice fan. Do you hate her because she’s black or do you disagree with her politics? Hmm. It would be pretty ridiculous of me to accuse you of racism because you disagree with someone. Right? Please tell me you are at least intellectually honest enough to admit that.

This was funny. Y’all can come clean my house for me too. I’ll be lazy and let the dirt pile up. ;)

Actually, I do not intend to comment on the political stuff, one because I don’t have enough information to stand alone, and two because I am just as much a liberal as I am a conservative. I literally stand 50/50. I am of course more liberal about somethings then others, and more conservative then others, but mostly I can see points from all sides. All I am going to say about it that this country has been a long time in the making. IMO, each President has had a hand in mucking it, some worse then others. At the same time, each President has had a hand in making this country great too. They are only human after all.

And I applaud that you were both able to create peace even in the midst of your disagreement.

You know the trouble is that her blog says it all, “Mama Still Wears Gucci” – now while I am all for keeping yourself fit, looking good, and happy – not playing second fiddle every second to your kids – I think someone who feels the need to boast of wearing $700 shoes to push a stroller just has no CLUE to what most of America is like.

And anyone who votes Republican because of their economic policies and then says they are for gay marriage, etc. is FOOLING only themselves. Do they really think that the Michelle Bachman’s of the world are ever going to allow it?

I read Mama Loves Gucci a LONG time ago when she had a post up about Target. It was funny. She should stick to that topic. She knows here shopping obviously. :P

Ho. Ly. Shit.

Her post is RIDICULOUS. Jesus-fucking-Christ (see? I can offend people, too!)

This is a favorite from the comments: “I do want to bring people around because I know I’m right and I want everyone else to be right too. See, the thing is, I don’t believe that it’s valid to see things differently than I do because, quite frankly, it’s not valid to see things the wrong way.”

Anyone who sees the world that way is insane. And I’m going to assume that means they have never changed their mind on such things; learned them as kids, never thought and adjusted their views. Because if they had, they would have some perspective that black and white do NOT exist (or at least, we are not capable of finding them) and it is not possible to be perfect on everything. The world seemed pretty black-and-white to me too…then I investigated things..and flipped my opinion on many issues…tweaked on many others…and realized that while something may make perfect sense to me now, that is within my current experience/place in life/social status/etc., and that it is IMPOSSIBLE to see things from all views since it is impossible to experience things from all views! And without that all-incompassing view, it is IMPOSSIBLE to say that you are perfect and right with zero doubt, and just arrogant and flat-out stupid to say everyone else is wrong.

Holy shit. Button pushed.

I mean, obviously you can still stand up for what you believe in. But if you can’t recognize there can be legitimate reasons for people to disagree with you, you are a moron. Just like how there are stupid reasons for people to agree with you out there!

Oh, I also love how she spent her entire response to your comment (as put in your blog, that first response) lecturing you on how bad it is to assume things (about her)….when her entire response was to an assumed point you never made in your comment!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

Now granted, your response here was just as ridiculous and insulting and out-of-proportion…but she started it and you were just playing back the same way :-P So I call that 1,000% OK!

Blargh. Glad you two made up. You’re a better person than me. That kind of narrow-minded idiocy drives me fricking nuts.

“…she spent her entire response to your comment (as put in your blog, that first response) lecturing you on how bad it is to assume things (about her)….when her entire response was to an assumed point you never made in your comment!”

Everything else you said was spot on missy! :)

Dude.. The fucking politics of this country make me want to sell all of my shit, and have a bee farm in the South of France. Seriously. The problem is, when it comes to politics, everyone thinks they are right. Which sucks because it’s hard to argue with someone who thinks they are right; it transforms from a debate to an argument to a homicide. If only our Country’s “Elected Officials” (notice I did NOT use the term ‘leaders’ – because, seriously? What a fucking joke) could agree to disagree the way MamaCass and GucciMama wouldn’t the world be a better place?? But, alas, we have special interest groups and lobbyist getting in the way…

Agreeing to disagree is TRUE progress this day in age. *sigh* Just a bunch of wheel spinning…

That is all. Bleh.

My comment to her:

Can you do anything more than present Fox News “talking points”?

You want to try inserting a bit of facts into your argument?

You are calling the President of the United States a dictator? Wow. Who, in recent campaigns, coined the phrase, “You’re either with us or against us?”

Who launched us into a second war in Iraq with false and misleading documents, without even checking their validity? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/02/AR2007040201777.html

Who launched us into that war with few allies, crumbling International relations for years, thus reversing not only centuries old defense positions, but all but reversing the Constitution?

Who sat by and presided over the largest defecit in history? While at the same time, requesting federal assistance for Wall Street, failing to place any restrictions on bonuses, pay, etc..?

Who eased safety restrictions and regulations on oil and gas companies, enabling BP’s massive spill in the Gulf this past summer? Last I looked, the Obama administration didn’t meet secretly with the leaders of Energy companies, including Ken Lay who ran Enron into the ground.

You really want to say that the MA Senatorial race was Obama’s fault? What about Colorado’s Democratic Primary last night, still Obama’s fault for his candidate winning? MA was a factor of a candidate thinking she didn’t have to campaign – stupidly. That’s a candidate issue, not a referendum on Obama.

You think bat shit crazy Tea Party woman is going to win in NV? You honestly think Rand Paul has a shot in KY? What polling numbers are you looking at, seriously? Hard core conservatives in the Republican party are looking at the Tea Party and shaking their heads.

So, do you want to present actual FACTS to back up your ill-advised opinions? Or do you want to continue to state talking points from Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh..

You want to take on the judge in the Prop 8 trial as well? Bring it.

Which party is actively seeking to overturn the 14th Amendment to the Constitution? The one that pretty much gives you equal protection under the law because you are a woman?

By the way, Presidents leave office in January of the year following the previous years elections. Not the Spring of election year. You possibly mean Autumn, but you’re dreaming. This country is still sitting at massive unemployment, the economy is not recovering and people don’t see that as Obama’s problem, they see that as a problem with corporations… and corporations are linked to WHICH party? That’s right… the GOP.

By the way, who placed on the court justices that were willing to write opinions like Citizens United v. FEC, thus ensuring corporations could go to town and give as much as possible to campaigns? That wasn’t Obama…

Just thought I’d add my two cents… You want me to send some real official liberals over to tear her apart, you just let me know..

Holy shitballs! I thought I was coming over here for an interesting little post and I get smacked in the face with all this? Sheesh!

Like CB, I am not anywhere near as well-informed about the issues as you ladies are, so I won’t try and argue the issues.

I have to agree with Mommy Lisa about the economy, though. Obama inherited the shitstorm from Bush, and why the Republicans refuse to see that, I have no idea.

I also think the parties that divide this country are what is keeping us from moving forward. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions, however, a country divided down the middle isn’t going to effectively accomplish anything long-term. If anything, we need to come together and work toward common goals instead of fighting about why “my” opinion is right.

Nothing like a good debate!
