I am going to give this Writer’s Workshop think another whirl. Since my first one was such a smashing success.
The prompt I am choosing this week is:
4.) Begin each line of your post with “have you ever”.

Have you ever love somebody so much, it makes you cry?
LOL Ok sorry, That song is so in my head right now though! hah!
Have you ever gotten out of the shower and realized you only shaved one leg?
which reminds me…
Have you ever gotten out of the shower and realized you forgot to wash the conditioner out of your hair?
Have you ever bought your step daughter a cell phone? And then had her mother tell you that no she couldn’t have it because she was too young so you took it back? Because she made you feel like a fool for getting it in the first place??
Have you ever then had your step daughter call you just a couple months later to tell you how ecstatic she was over her new cell phone that her MOTHER BOUGHT HER TODAY!?!?
Have you ever wanted to scream because you specifically told her mother that YOU wanted to be the one to get her her first cell phone because you two had discussed it and you wanted to do SOMETHING for her for a change.
Have you ever been so frustrated with the WHOLE situation because there wasn’t a single solitary think you could do about it because she is just going to make things worse for you in your step daughters life if you do. AND SHE KNOWS IT!
Have you ever just wanted to call her and tell her all of the things that you REALLY feel about her even though you have held them ALL back for the last 7 years?
Have you ever promised yourself that you never really could make that call because of the damage it would to to not only your step daughter but to your husband as well?
Have you ever secretly imagined what that day would be like when in fact she pushed you just a little bit too far and you said fuck it and spewed at her about her nastiness?
Have you ever in your head renamed her Douchey McDoucherson because a kick ass friend suggested it?
Have you ever been pretty sure this post will find a way to bite you in the ass?
Yeah… me neither.

Oh I have SO done such similar things…except I did call the ex step daughter’s mom the “C” word, and the step daughter heard it….that was the end of said relationship with step daughter! But now…years later….she knows that I was right! =)

Meh…. You have the husband – that’s all this is about…
And, as tough as it is, you kind of have to smile about that and buck up. The stepdaughter will know the real deal, if her father knows it… Best to let him handle the ex-wife… If I were you, I’d start communicating through him to her – that way, when it’s something like this – a cell phone situation? It will come back and bite her on the ass, because all the parties were in agreement. If he doesn’t want to do it, then tell him it’s not your fault because you’re not the one making things difficult and going back on your word.
Either she’ll get the point and start acting right, or she won’t.. in any event, the argument will stay between the two people in needs to be between.

I actually forgot to rinse the conditioner out this am… thankfully a ponytail works as I was not able to get back in. My hair will be extra soft tomorrow.
Douche McDoucherson? I LOVE IT!!! I really do love it.
I think you should write all that you feel in a letter, get it out and probably feel better. Crack a bottle of wine and have a burning party when you are ready to let the feelings go.. Just hide the phone while you are drinking and watching the letter burn.

BTDT, and have new stress wrinkles to show for it. I have dealt with SD’s mom for a decade now, I seriously despise that woman for the way she sets me and hubby up – LIKE ALL THE TIME. I feel your pain in this – for serious.
